Summer Lovin' Un-Wheat

Brewed: 06/15/2013   Kegged: 06/27/2013

I was at the home-brew shop meaning to buy ingredients for Summer Lovin' American Wheat. UnwheatBy mistake, I grabbed German Pilsner malt instead of the wheat malt I meant to use. The grains were crushed and mixed together by the time I figured this out, so I couldn't very well pull out the wrong malt and replace it with the right one.

I decided to go with it.

I reduced the Coriander and used orange juice concentrate instead of orange zest. The concentrate was something I'd been meaning to try for awhile. I got the chance because of a careless error.

The beer was very similar to Summer Lovin' American Wheat. I is was fairly crisp, dry, and refreshing with nice complimentary orange flavors. It is a very nice summer beer. The SheppyBrew Beer Model really liked it. I did too.

Hmmm... no comments? Kegged today. Got 1.009 as the FG. Tasted good. Maybe a bit thin, but that is better than too full bodied.

Like this beer. Been drinking it by the liter. The Beer Model says she likes it too. Probably won't last long.
